We are a website developed and dedicated to collecting data from the most important exchange houses in Paraguay.

Our main goal is to provide our users with real-time updated information so they can choose the best option for their transactions.

Why we exist

Our mission

Cambiaca was born from an everyday reality: in Paraguay, exchange rates vary significantly between different exchange houses, and until recently there was no public, free, and reliable tool to compare those differences. We have seen people lose money simply because they did not have access to the right information at the right time. We built Cambiaca with a clear purpose: so that anyone — whether a tourist, business owner, student, or resident — can know in seconds which exchange house offers the best rate of the day. No fees, no registration, no hassle.

The technology behind it

How does Cambiaca work?

Our system automatically crawls the websites and data sources of the leading exchange houses in Paraguay every 15 minutes. Each time a rate is updated, the information is stored in our database and immediately reflected in the comparison tool. The data we present includes buy price, sell price, exchange house name, city, and the time of the last update. We also offer a currency calculator that lets you simulate the exact result of your transaction before leaving home, as well as a price history so you can observe how each currency has evolved over time.

Who uses Cambiaca?

Cambiaca is used by a wide variety of people. Tourists arriving in Paraguay from Brazil, Argentina, or the United States use it to know exactly how many guaraníes they will receive for their currency before joining the queue at the exchange house. Traders and importers operating in the Triple Frontier area, especially in Ciudad del Este and along the Paraguay-Brazil border, check it daily to make informed purchasing decisions. Many residents of Asunción use it as a first reference before visiting their usual exchange house. Students and professionals who receive remittances or who regularly carry out international transactions also rely on it.

Reach and coverage

Cambiaca currently monitors more than 15 active exchange houses in 3 major cities in Paraguay: Asunción (ASU), the country's capital and main financial center; Ciudad del Este (CDE), known for its intense cross-border trade with Brazil; and Encarnación (ENC), a city on the border with Argentina. Available currency pairs include US dollar (USD), euro (EUR), Brazilian real (BRL), Argentine peso (ARS), and Paraguayan guaraní (PYG). Data is updated continuously throughout the day, with a minimum frequency of every 15 minutes during banking and business hours. Our short-term goal is to expand coverage to other cities such as Pedro Juan Caballero and Coronel Oviedo.

Cambiaca is a product of ITH, a technology company based in Asunción, Paraguay. ITH designed and built the platform with the goal of applying modern technological solutions to concrete problems in the local financial market. We believe that price transparency is a right, not a privilege, and we work to ensure that Paraguayans and visitors to the country have access to financial information that is up to date, reliable, and completely free of charge.
